Chocolate Chip Cookies
24 cookies
2 cups plus 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
12 tablespoons (stick and a half) unsalted butter, melted and cooled until warm
1 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup granulated sugar
1 large egg plus one egg yolk
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (We like Ghirardelli)
Sea salt for sprinkling on top (optional)
Prep Time: 15 min., Bake Time: approx. 12-14 min.

Preheat oven to 325 degrees. Line two cookie sheets with parchment paper. Whisk flour, baking soda, and salt together in a bowl and set aside. Next, mix butter and sugars until thoroughly combined with electric mixer or by hand. Beat in egg, yolk, and vanilla until combined. Slowly add in dry mixture, a little at a time, until thoroughly combined. Finally, stir in the chocolate chips. You can use 2 spoons to form dough into balls and place on sheets, leaving enough room between each cookie (about 12 per cookie sheet). Bake at 325 for roughly 12-14 minutes, making sure not to over bake! When they are just turning a light golden brown, they are ready! Sprinkle with sea salt as soon as they’re out of the oven. Let cool and enjoy with a cold glass of milk!
